Mindfulness -Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) aims to address prolonged periods of stress which can lead to poor mental and physical health.

The approach incorporates different techniques including meditation, gentle yoga, and mind-body exercise. MBSR was developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and studied since the 1970s for its impact on mental health. Studies have shown a significant decrease in anxiety, stress, depression and also enhanced the quality of life in patients with chronic diseases like cancer, hypertension, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, chronic pain, and skin disorders, after MBSR therapy.
